Who we are
The board of trustees of the AUBA foundation is the foundation's board of directors, and it is composed of individuals with a distinguished trajectory and a strong commitment to the world in which we live.
Jordi Cuixart
Jordi Cuixart is the President and founder of ARANOW International, SA, a company specializing in the manufacturing of packaging machinery for flexible packaging, with a global presence across five continents. Cuixart served as the president of Òmnium Cultural from 2015 to 2022.
He established ARANOW in 2003 and, as a representative of his own company, has been a member of the Metalworking Center, the Board of CEQUIP, co-founder of Respon.cat, and later became a trustee of the private foundation for entrepreneurs FemCAT. From there, he joined the board of Òmnium Cultural in 2010, initially holding the position of treasurer and later becoming Vice President until 2015 when he was appointed president. Among numerous recognitions, in 2017, he won the 31st of December Award, and in 2023, he was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi.
Jordi Serra
Jordi Serra holds executive positions in various Swiss non-profit associations and is currently an independent consultant. He studied industrial engineering at the ETSIB in Barcelona, and after an initial period in various schools and the Government of Catalonia (Departments of Education and Culture), he has always been connected to the sports world (COOB'92, General Directorate of Sports, International Table Tennis Federation). In this International Federation, he served as Technical Director (1998-2000), Executive Director (2001-2012), and Director of Operations (2018-2022), always working in Switzerland.
Neus Torbisco
Neus Torbisco Casals is a Senior Research Fellow at the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy, in addition to being a member of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and an associate professor of Law at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). Her main research areas include human rights, cultural diversity, and identity claims; the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples, laws against discrimination, and gender and race equality.
Torbisco holds a Doctorate in Law from Pompeu Fabra University. Since then, she has taught at various universities, including Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Puerto Rico, and the Global Law School at New York University, where she was also a Hauser Research Scholar (2003-2004). In 2012, she was appointed Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School.
Anna Navarro
Anna Navarro Descals (Anna Schlegel) is well known for her global roles as Vice-President of Globalization, Technical Information, and Digital Content Strategies at Californian companies such as NetApp, Procore Technologies, VeriSign, VMware, Cisco Systems, or Xerox. Her expertise is in driving enterprise platforms and programs successfully into the world. Navarro has been working for decades to promote gender equality in the world of technology. She served as the executive Chair of Women in Technology for 9 years, is a member of the board of "Young Women at The Tech Museum" in San Jose, California, and is the founder (2008) and President of Women in Localization, among other non-profit roles to support upward mobility for children and women.
She has received numerous accolades for her innovative projects and commitment, including the Modern Governance 100 Award (2020), the Most Influential Woman in Technology Award by Analytics Insight magazine (2020), the Cross of St. George (2021), and being listed in the top 10 Most Successful Women Leaders in Business by CIO Women and CIO Today magazine (2023).
Navarro holds a degree in Anglo-Germanic Philology from the University of Barcelona and pursued postgraduate studies at Humboldt University in Berlin. After she moved to San Francisco, where she founded a product globalization company, Anna studied telecommunications, executive leadership, corporate strategy, and gender and minority studies at three American universities. Her professional experiences include consulting with renowned multinational companies such as Google, Microsoft and Yahoo.
Since June 2024, Navarro is an elected representative of the XIV Legislature at Parlament de Catalunya. Anna is also the author of “Truly Global” a best seller in the United States, translated into Catalan in 2023 as Veritablement Global.
Oleguer Serra
Oleguer Serra is the CEO of the AUBA Foundation and a member of the foundation's board. He is also the Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Moeenia, a cybersecurity company based in Barcelona and Neuchâtel (Switzerland). Additionally, he has served as an executive at Òmnium Cultural since 2012.
Serra holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (1990-1998) and a master's degree in cybersecurity from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. He has a background as an entrepreneur and has worked as a consultant in information technology, communications, and information security for various companies. Oleguer Serra served as the CEO of Òmnium Cultural from 2012 to 2018, during which time he played a significant role in the organization's technological transformation and social growth.
Montserrat Bellprat
Montserrat Bellprat is Head of Members and Community at SwissFoundations (since 2005).
Montserrat was born in Switzerland and has lived in Winterthur, Kanton Zurich and Vancouver B.C. Canada. She is fluent in 6 languages. She holds a Master's degree in Strategic Marketing and Management of Services for NPOs from the University of Lucerne. She was Head of Human Resources in a scenography agency (1990 - 2000) and later founded her own company for management services (2000 - 2017). The association of grant-making foundation was created in 2001, giving the foundations a strong and independent voice. As an active network dedicated to innovation, the association fosters the exchange of expertise, transparency and professionalism in the Swiss foundation sector.
